As a king he led Dacia to an increasing economical and cultural prosperity. He fought against Trajanus and the Roman Empire 101-102 şi 105-106) and he was eventually defeated in 106. He commited suicide to avoid being captured. Dacia became a Roman province. Along with the Romans the Dacians are the ancestors of the Romanians. More than 200 Romanian words are of Dacian origins
