Description: Per Anger was born in Gothenburg in 1913. Per Anger trained as a lawyer and was employed by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1940. During his time working in Budapest 1942-1946, Per Anger became famous when he went in to save Jews he could escape Nazi persecution. . Per Anger worked close to Raoul Wallenberg. On August 25, 2002, Per Anger died in Stockholm, 88 years old. In 2004, the Swedish government instituted an award to honor humanistic and pro-democracy actions.
