Description: The street tοοκ its name from the area located at the southeastern edge of the Peloponnese, is defined by the mountain ranges of Parnon and Taygetos, borders on the north with Arcadia and on the west with Messinia, while it is bathed by the Myrtos Sea, the Messinian Gulf and the Laconian Gulf. Since the time of Homer, the area has been called "Laconic" and "Lacedaemon", while since the Roman period it has been called Laconia and its inhabitants, Laconians and Lacedaemonians. Messinia in antiquity was included in the borders of ancient Laconia. The capital of Laconia is Sparta.
