Description:
The street owes its name to the railway station that was located there from 1892 and operated until 2010. This street during the interwar period was called Eleftherios Venizelos. In 1967 with the establishment of the Dictatorship on April 21st, the date of the proclamation of coup in Greece. Its renaming to ‘‘Sidirodromikou Stathmou’’ contributed to the better orientation of the visitor and the permanent residents of Kalamata, when they arrived in the city.
