Description: Baba Novac was one of the most appreciated generals of the Mihai Viteazu’s army and accompanied him in all his important battles. He was a Serbian brigand and fought against the Ottoman Empire. He is a National Hero in Serbia and a respected figure of the Romanian History. In 1601 he was arrested in Cluj and judged for treason. He was sentenced to death and burnt in the fortress of Cluj. His body was dismembred then and impaled and exposed in front of the fortress.
