Son of the architect Francisco del Castillo “the Old”, at the age of 17 he was sent by his father to Italy for his training, collaborating in the Villa Giulia in Rome around 1552, a fact that would mark his later style. He carried out different constructions in the provinces of Jaén and Granada.
