Description: Fernando III from León and Castilla, called “the Saint”, was king of Castilla from 1217 to 1252 and of León from 1230 to 1252. Son of Berenguela, queen of Castilla and Alfonso IX, king of León, unified both kingdoms that had been divided from 1157, when Alfonso VII, the Emperor died and Sancho and Fernando, his sons, inherited them. During the kingdom, Jaén, Córdoba and Sevilla were conquered, together with Badajoz.
