Anastasios Alevizos (Lefkochora, Messinia, 1914 - Athens, October 13, 1985), known by the artistic pseudonym of Tassos, was a distinguished Greek engraver. At the age of sixteen, he was admitted to the Athens School of Fine Arts. There he attended sculpture and painting classes. From 1933 until his graduation from the School in 1939, he attended engraving classes. He studied in Paris, Rome and Florence. His talent in engraving was recognized very quickly, in 1938 he received the Engraving Award and two years later, he was honored with the State Engraving Award.
He made covers and jewelry, created stamps on behalf of the Hellenic Post, carved wooden plates and began to create thematic sections in triptychs or quatrains. At the same time he was involved in hagiography.
From 1930 he had joined the communist party of Greece (KKE), during the Dictatorship of the Colonels, he lived in self-exile outside Greece
